Description

First Edition, Original Binding, Publishers' Original Binding, Scarce

Seven volumes. Some scarce editions. Issued by the Black Sparrow Press, a New England based independent book publisher, known for literary fiction and poetry. Originally founded in Los Angeles, California, in 1966 by John Martin and Barbara Martin in order to publish the works of Charles Bukowski and other avant-garde authors. Recognizable for its distinctive and bold covers, each volume was printed alongside a signed limited run with handbound boards. In 1969, Bukowski accepted an offer from Black Sparrow Press and quit his post office job to dedicate himself to full-time writing. He published almost all of his subsequent major works with Black Sparrow Press, which became a highly successful enterprise. This collection includes: A New Year's Greeting from Black Sparrow Press, 1982. The Last Generation by Charles Bukowski. A New Year's Greeting from Black Sparrow Press, 1985. Alone in a Time of Armies by Charles Bukowski. A New Year's Greeting from Black Sparrow Press, 1988. The Movie Critics by Charles Bukowski. A New Year's Greeting from Black Sparrow Press, 1995. Confession of a Coward by Charles Bukowski. A New Year's Greeting from Black Sparrow Press, 1999. The Singer by Charles Bukowski. A New Year's Greeting from Black Sparrow Press, 2000.
