The first edition, second state of this novel, with the female protagonist being named 'Karin Forster'; the name was changed from 'Kathe Geutner' due to a threat of a libel suit from someone with the same name as the character.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding, in the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, smart. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Spots to the fore edge. Light edge wear to the dust wrapper. Wraps are a little discoloured with a few light marks. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
