What Our Customers Say...

Description

Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding, With Dustwrapper

A popular children's story by Thomas Hughes, illustrative of a student's life at Rugby School in the 1830s, an English public school. The novel is largely based on the author's own experiences, who attended Rugby School from 1834 to 1842.

The story develops around the character of Tom Brown: energetic, stubborn, and kind-natured boy.

A popular story, it was adapted for films and television and greatly influenced the genre of British school novels.

With illustrations in text by Arthur Hughes and Sydney Prior Hall. Complete with unclipped dust wrapper.

Condition

In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally lovely. The dust wrapper is excellent, unclipped with minor shelf wear only, light sunning to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Numerous illustrations in text.
