What Our Customers Say...

Description

First Edition, Original Binding, With Dustwrapper

A lovely first edition of this 'superb selection' of Latin poetry. Perosa and Sparrow present an uninterrupted and varied selection of writings that span the 14th to the 16th Century, and across Europe. This title was published in 1979, the year of death of Richard William Hunt, whose bookplate can be found to the front pastedown. Hunt was a medieval scholar, paleographer, and author who was employed in the Bodleian Library as Keeper of the Western Manuscripts, and shared this book's investment in the preservation of ancient and historical languages. Still in its original dust wrapper, clipped, with minor shelf wear.

Condition

Bound in blue cloth, with original clipped dust wrapper. Externally, very smart. Bookplate to front paste down. Clipped dust wrapper, mild shelf wear. Internally, firmly bound. Pages consistently bright and clean. Very slight spotting to top edge.
