Thomas Chippendale was a London-based cabinet maker and influential designer. His work is synonymous with the trends of the eighteenth century in furniture design, with his work covering English Rococo, Neoclassical and mid-Georgian styles.
Written by Christopher Gallard Gilbert, a museum curator and furniture historian.

Rebound in half calf, with cloth covered boards. Endpapers renewed. Externally, very smart, but with minor areas of fading to tail of volume I front board, and to the front board of volume II. Internally, firmly bound. Inscription to volume II title page. Pages clean and bright.
