Written by Japanologist David Chibbett, who at the time of publication held the position of Assistant Keeper of the Japanese collection at the British Museum. Illustrations in this book are sourced from the British Museum archives.

Condition

In original publisher's cloth binding. With unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, excellent condition. Dust wrapper very nice with minor shelf wear only. Reinforced by archival binding. Bookplate to reverse of front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean with the exception to slight spotting to the top edge of the book.
