What Our Customers Say...
Description
First Edition, Publishers' Original Binding, With Dustwrapper
The first edition.
A fine example, in the publisher's original unclipped dust wrapper.
A collection of seven short stories written by English author and editor, Basil Copping. 'An Afterward, the Dark' was the second collection published by Arkham House, with Copping's editor and Arkham House founder August Derleth, remaining close to the author throughout his career.
Including "The Spider", "The Cave", "Dust to Dust", "Camera Obscura", "The Janissaries of Emilion", "Archives of the Dead" and "The Flabby Men". Notably, "The Spider" was Copping's first published work, previously appearing in the fifth 'Pan Book of Horror Stories' in 1964.
In these works, Copping presents ghost stories with elements of the supernatural and science-fiction, particularly evident in "The Flabby Men", a novella set in the future following a nuclear war on Earth.
Condition
