Inscribed by Agatha Christie's husband of forty-six years, the archaeologist Max Mallowan. The inscription reads 'To Lily Belson, in memory of Agatha Christie Mallowan. 8. XI. 77 from Max Mallowan'.

Christie and Mallowan met during the excavation at Ur in 1930, and subsequently spent much time together on various archaeological digs, with this knowledge lending to her fiction. Despite remarrying after Christie's death, Mallowan requested his ashes be interred alongside his first wife's remains after his death in 1978.

Published just two years after Christie's death, this autobiography presents her fascinating private life, including her childhood, her two marriages, living through two World Wars, her time spent travelling with Mallowan, and more.
