This copy is an authoritative French translation, by General Albert Niessel, of Clausewitz’s Nachrichten über Preussen in seiner grossen Katastrophe, originally published in German in the early 20th century and first issued in French by R. Chapelot around 1903. Clausewitz analyzes the crushing Prussian defeat in 1806, at Jena and Auerstädt, and continues, examining the political and military reforms that followed.
