The Conservationist was a joint winner of the Booker-McConnell Prize for fiction, set in South Africa under Apartheid.
Nadine Gordimer was a South African writer and political activist. She received the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1991, recognised as a writer 'who through her magnificent epic writing has [...] been of very great benefit to humanity.'
Gordimer was one of the most honoured female writers of her generation.

In the publisher's original cloth with the original bright, clipped dust wrapper. Externally, excellent. Dust wrapper excellent. Light shelf wear to wrap extremities and slight fading of spine. Marginal age toning to reverse of wrap. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright.
