What Our Customers Say...
Description
First Edition, Publishers' Original Binding, With Dustwrapper
The first edition.
In a clipped dust wrapper.
A collection of thirty-six poems by John Betjeman. Each poem explores themes of light and darkness. Betjeman suffered looniness as a young child which profoundly impacted what he wrote. His personal experiences surface within his poetry.
Betjeman's style of writing contrasts with his contemporary's of Evelyn Waugh. His style harks back to that of traditional British writers including Alfred Lord Tennyson and Thomas Hardy.
