A facsimile reprint of this volume concerning early Antarctic exploration by Raymond Priestley, English geology and early Antarctic explorer. Sharing stories of life on the continent in those early days, described day to day. Recounting of the ill-fated Terra Nova expedition of 1910 as a member of Robert Falcon Scott's team to explore and carry out scientific work in King Edward VII land to the east under the leadership of Victor Campbell.

With a foreword by Vivian Fuchs. Originally published in 1914. 

Illustrated with numerous full page plates, of which one is folding. With its original, unclipped dust wrapper.

Condition

In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally excellent with only minor shelf wear and a minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities. With Kenn Back's bookplate to the front free endpaper. The dust wrapper is unclipped and lovely with only minor shelf wear. Internally, firmly bound. With minor tape marking to the front free endpaper and a minor odd spotting to the endpapers, otherwise the pages are bright and clean. Illustrated with numerous full page plates, of which one is folding.
