The first edition, first impression of this work.

This book, from Irish-born adventurer and author Marie Herbert, records the time spent with her husband and ten-month-old baby in an isolated settlement in north-west Greenland. With descriptions of the Inuit and of the jobs she took on as an Eskimo housewife. 

Illustrated with a frontispiece and seven monochrome plates of photographs. Collated, complete.

Condition

In the original cloth binding. With the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, very smart indeed, with minor bumping and browning to the cloth edges. Dust wrapper is Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with spotting to the foredge affecting the page margins. With the odd ink marks.
