A charming account of Child & Co., a formerly independent private bank and the third oldest bank in the world. Predating the Bank of England by thirty years, it can be traced back to a London goldsmith business in the late 17th century.
This history of the bank, which celebrates its 300th year of banking at the same address, was written by Philip Clarke, a British businessman.
Illustrated with twelve plates, four of which are in colour. Collated complete.
Condition
In the original cloth binding. Externally, very smart, with minor rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound with very bright and clean pages. A minor mark to the contents page only.
