A work detailing the history and intricacies of the Carlton Club, one of London's foremost members-only clubs. Founded in Georgian London in 1832 as the original home of the Conservative Party before the days of Conservative Central Office. 

It is a clubhouse that includes dining rooms, bars and accommodation, with members referring to it as a home from home.

This volume covers its early years, the club in politics, running a Victorian club, the end of the nineteenth century, the Edwardian era, meetings and the latest age.

Condition

In publisher's original blue cloth binding. In the original slipcase. Externally, excellent. Slipcase is smart, with fading to edges and slight damp staining to the rear. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
