Bound in the publisher's original cloth with the original dust wrappers, three of which remain unclipped.
Written by English biographer, novelist and short story writer Margaret Drabble, who has received a number of awards, such as the James Tait Black Memorial Prize in 1967. Drabble's novels tend to surround a female protagonist, exploring the conflict between motherhood, societal expectations and other aspects of life.
This collection is comprised of:
'The Needle's Eye' (1972), which tells the story of an heiress who decides to give away her inheritance.
'The Realms of Gold' (1975), surrounding the story of the adventures of a female archaeologist.
'The Ice Age' (1977), a novel set in England in the 1970s, exploring the social and economic conditions at that time.
'The Middle Ground' (1980), telling the story of a female journalist.
Condition
Bound in the publisher's original cloth with the original dust wrappers, three of which remain unclipped; 'The Realms of Gold' has been clipped. Externally, lovely, with minor shelf wear. Dust wrappers are also excellent, with light edge wear and the odd closed tear, heavier to 'The Needle's Eye'. Slight sunning to the spine. Tape repair to the reverse of the wrap of 'The Ice Age' and 'The Needle's Eye'. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean, with an ink inscription to the front endpaper of 'The Realms of Gold' and a pencil inscription to 'The Ice Age'.
