A compelling volume on Russian cuisine, with histories behind traditional dishes and recipes, narrated with George's own childhood memories and anecdotes.
Recipes include a classic Ukha (clear fish soup with lime and dill), Syrniki (sweet cheese fritters) and Agurkai su Rukcscia Grietne (cucumber and soured-cream salad).
From American writers Helen and George Papashvily, who together wrote several books, often based on George's life experiences as a Georgian emigrant. Their first book 'Anything Can Happen' was a surprise hit in 1945, soon published as an Armed Services Edition to be distributed to American troops fighting in World War II.
