What Our Customers Say...
Description
Colour Plates, First Edition, Illustrated, Original Binding, Publishers' Original Binding, Scarce, With Dustwrapper
First edition, in the publisher's original pictorial hard back binding, with the original, unclipped dust wrapper.
This work is based on the Mediaeval English poem, Sir Orfeo, dated from the late 13th or early 14th century. The poem tells the story of King Orpheus who rescues his wife from the fairy king.
Anthea Davies simplifies this poem, making it appropriate for younger children, whilst also retaining the charm of the original story.
With beautiful colour illustrations throughout by British animator and illustrator, Errol Le Cain. Collated, complete with thirty one pages.
