Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding, Very Scarce
The second issue of the very scarce magazine 'Bitman', for July 1970. 'Bitman' describes itself as an 'alternative society Bible and survival manual and classified directory of active deviants'.
Wraps illustrated by William Golding, of the Eel Pie Island Commune. This commune was the UK's largest hippie commune.
A commune journal containing articles, an interview with Ken Kesey, and various adverts.
Ken Kesey was an important figure of counterculture, linking the Beat Generation of the 1950s and the hippies of the 1960s. He is best known for writing 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest'.
Prior owner has filled out the speech bubbles to the comic on the rear wrap.
Condition
In the original publisher's paper wraps. Externally, smart. Light edge wear to the wraps. A few very minor marks, and a little discolouration to the extremities of the wraps. Prior owner's ink to the rear wrap. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
