Description

First Edition, Illustrated, With Dustwrapper

The first edition, first impression of this work in the publisher's original cloth binding, with the original unclipped dust wrapper. An interesting work exploring 'cult movements' related to 'cargo' cults in Papua and the Solomon Islands between 1916 and 1967, with an examination of the 'Vailala madness'. This work includes a foreword by Kenelm Burridge and is illustrated with maps.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding, with the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, cloth is in excellent condition. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean except for the odd spot to the fore edge. Dust wrapper is fairly smart but spotted, mostly to the spine, with a little chipping to the head of the spine and ink inscriptions to the rear flap.
