Published the same year as the true first, the English edition issued in 1969. Illustrated throughout. The flyleaf of the English edition noted 'The Snail, hiding in that vulnerable gray, sensitive self in a fantasy of color and form. How could satirist Ronald Searle resist?' These drawings are all of snails, and their shells in many different situations. Ronald Searle was a British artist and satirical cartoon artist. He created the famous St Trinian's School and collaborated with Geoffrey Willans on the Molesworth series. Searle received many critical recognition for his work especially in America. He won the National Cartoonists Society's Advertising and Illustration Award in 1959 and 1965, The Reuben Award in 1960 and many more.
