A refined modern English rendering of Aeschylus’s tragic masterpiece. Aeschylus (c. 525–456 BC) is often regarded as the father of Greek tragedy, his Agamemnon forming the first part of the Oresteia trilogy.
Raymond Postgate (1896–1971), was a journalist, historian, and founder of The Good Food Guide.
With the bookplate of Dr Richard Luckett, Emeritus Fellow of Magdalene College, Cambridge, who served as Pepys Librarian and Lecturer in Seventeenth-Century Literature for thirty years, noted for his work on the Diary of Samuel Pepys and his distinguished collection of early music and manuscripts.

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, lovely, with only the slightest trace of shelf wear to extremities. Discreet bookplate of Dr Richard Luckett to front paste down. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean.
