Some are decorated with reigning monarchs, with six relating to America. Original maps drawn by Johan Bussemacher, a German engraver, publisher, printer, and art dealer based in Cologne. Written by Matthias Quad, an engraver and cartographer from Cologne who was the first European mapmaker to use dotted lines to indicate international borders. With an introduction by Wilhelm Bonacker, a German cartographer and map-historian.
