In the publisher's original cloth binding, complete with the original unclipped dust wrapper. This volume is profusely illustrated with 48 double sided plate illustrations of sketches and drawings by Alberto Giacometti. Collated, complete. Alberto Giacometti (1901–1966) was a Swiss sculptor, painter, and draftsman renowned for his elongated, ghostly figures that explore the human condition. The drawings in this text are accompanied by critical text from André du Bouchet. Bouchet (1924–2001) was a French poet, essayist, and translator known for his sparse, image-rich verse that often engaged with visual art. In 1983 he won the National Poetry Prize or "Prix national de la poésie".

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, lovely. One or two of the slightest handling marks to boards. Slight rubbing to extremities. The odd very slight handling mark to fore edge of front free endpaper. Dust wrapper, very smart. one or two handling marks to wraps. Slight age toning to extremities. Slight rubbing and bumping to extremities resulting in one or two very small closed tears and chips to extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean.
