Folding Maps, Publishers' Original Binding, With Dustwrapper
Michael Roe offers a narrative of the voyages of Charles Bishop in this interesting volume published by the Hakluyt Society. Found in the price clipped dust wrapper. Instructed to procure furs from Native Americans and then sell the cargo in Canton, Bishop set sail from Bristol port in 1874. Between 1794 and 1802, he visited the Pacific islands and the coasts of Asia and Australia and his journal tells of interactions with his contacts in the pacific, as well as the seamen who served under him.
