A later reprint of this charing work by one of the most renowned poets of the twentieth century, T.S. Eliot.
A verse drama first published and performed in 1935. The drama evolves around the murder of Archbishop Thomas Becket in Canterbury Cathedral during the reign of Henry VII. TS Eliot was inspired by the writing of a witness, Edward Grim. The main theme explored is Becket's internal struggle.
With the original, unclipped dustwrapper.
Condition
In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally lovely with only minor shelfwear. Inscribed by a previous owner to the front free endpaper, undated, as well as by minor scholarly notes in pencil to the occasional page. The dustwrapper is smart with slight shelfwear and closed tears. Tape repaired internally to the tail of the spine. The spine of the wrapper is slightly sunned. Internally, firmly bound. The odd faint spot ot the occasional leaf, otherwise pages are bright and clean throughout.
