This autobiography goes as far as Forester's career as a writer before he achieved the success and recognition thanks to the Hornblower series and his Romantic novels, such as The African Queen. In this book, C.S. Forester explores the struggles he faced at the start of his career as an author.
Included in the issue are Some Personal Notes from The Hornblower Companion, Forester's memoirs in which he explores the creation of the famous Captain Hornblower.
In the original publisher's cloth binding, with unclipped dustwrapper.
Condition
In the original publisher's blue cloth binding, with titles stamped in gilt to spine. Externally, in excellent condition with minor bumping to head and tail of spine only. Dustwrapper is very smart, with minor watermark to head of front wrap, and minor closed tear to tail of spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
