This is the first edition and impression of 1967. This volume includes a summary of the last several chapters of the novel, taken from notes left by the author.
The Hornblower series follows the fictional character of Horatio Hornblower, a Royal Navy officer during the Napoleonic Wars, and it consists of twelve novels, including this unfinished, and five short stories published between 1937 and 1967.
C. S. Forester was born in Cairo in 1899, lived in the UK and died in California, USA in 1966 (aged 66). He was an English novelist known for his writings on naval warfare.

Condition
In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally lovely with only minor shelf wear and a minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine. The dust wrapper is unclipped and very smart with only minor shelf wear and some edge wear. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean.
