Volume III: A Cure for A Cuckold, Appius and Virginia, Shorter Poems, A Monumental Column, Monuments of Honor.
John Webster (c.1580-c.1634) was one of the foremost tragedians of the English Renaissance, noted for his dark psychological intensity and intricate revenge plots. The White Devil and The Duchess of Malfi remain two of the most powerful tragedies of the Jacobean stage.
Condition
In the publisher's original cloth bindings. Externally, very smart. Slight rubbing and bumping to extremities. Slight offsetting and the odd spot to endpapers. Dust wrapper, generally smart. The odd spot to wraps with slight age toning. The odd handling mark to wraps with slight soiling. Rubbing and bumping to extremities resulting in the odd chip, crease, and closed tear to extremities, more so to heads and tails of spines. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean with one or two spots to fore edges and first and last few leaves.
