First edition. Uncommon work. Illustrated with a frontispiece and twelve plates. Collated complete. A historical study of the pre-pioneer and pioneer period of Southern Rhodesia, with reference to the North. This work is a vast collection of research into over four hundred important persons who played a part in the history of the region, becoming a biographical dictionary for the years 1836 to 1880. Written by Edward C. Tabler, a British historian.
Condition
In the original full cloth binding. Externally, very smart with minor wear only. Original unclipped dust wrapper is sound with wear and chipping to the extremities resulting in light loss to the head and tail of the spine. The odd small closed tear to the panel edges and spine. Sympathetic repairs made using tape to the internal side. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot. A contemporary ink inscription and book label to the front pastedown.
