The eighth impression of this continuation of the work of Isabella Beeton, the English journalist, editor and writer best known for her 1861 work 'Mrs Beeton's Book of Household Management'.
Illustrated with sixteen double sided plates, monochrome to one side and in colour to the reverse. Collated, complete.
Loosely inserted are twelve handwritten recipes in various hands, including recipes for green tomato chutney, coconut fingers, peanut crisps, 'hasty fruit loaf', lemon drink, pineapple steam pudding, and cornflake crunch.
With 'The Book Club' leaf tipped in to front free endpaper.
Condition
In the publisher's original cloth binding. Bumping to back strip head and tail, with boards bright. Head of front joint starting, with board firmly held. Light tide marks to rear pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright, the odd handling mark and instances of spotting.
