Later edition, originally published 1964. Illustrated with a colour frontispiece and twenty-three images across sixteen plates. Collated complete. The life of Charles de Courcy Parry, a British police officer who served as Chief Constable of the Cumberland and Westmorland Constabulary, as well as His Majesty's Inspector of Constabulary for Wales. Known best for his work published under the pseudonym "Dalesman" often issued in the weekly instalments of Horse and Hounds. His work explored his love for hunting with great personality, charm and humour, earning him a permanent place in the history of sporting literature.
Condition
In the original green cloth binding. Externally, very smart with minor wear to the extremities. Original price-clipped dust wrapper is sound with wear and chipping to the extremities. Minor loss to the head of the spine with small closed tears to the panel edges. Two 1" closed tears to the front panel with slight loss of the paper. The odd small mark to the panels. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout.
