What Our Customers Say...
Description
First Edition, Original Binding, Publishers' Original Binding, With Dustwrapper
Three volumes. First editions. Written by Sir John Betjeman, an English writer, poet, and broadcaster who was poet laureate from 1972 until his death. This set includes: High and Low, 1966. The first copy of poetry from Betjeman other than his autobiographical Summoned by Bells, this collection delights readers with haunting Cornish landscapes and light Irish ballads. A Nip in the Air, 1974. New poems, mostly written since the previous publication, exploring places and human encounters, meditations, and familiar vistas. Uncollected Poems, 1982. A rich collection of poems from all periods of Betjeman's creative life, with affectionate satire, grimness and gaiety, sharp social commentary, and personified landscapes.
