Description

Original Binding, Publishers' Original Binding, With Dustwrapper

Book Club edition. The twelfth and final novel in the James Bond series. The story centres on the fictional British Secret Service operative James Bond, who had been posted missing, presumed dead, after his last mission in Japan. Bond returns to Britain via the Soviet Union, where he had been brainwashed to attempt to assassinate his superior, M. Written by Ian Lancaster Fleming, a British writer, best known for his postwar James Bond series of spy novels. Fleming, who worked for Britain's Naval Intelligence Division during the Second World War, drew from his wartime service and his career as a journalist for much of the background, detail, and depth of his James Bond novels. This volume has been bound with a common binding error of the text block being bound in upside down to the cover.
