Limited to five hundred copies. Illustrated throughout. A selection of Walker's writings on health and gastronomy from The Original, which were most appreciated at the time of writing. With articles such as: Dining as an Art, Obstacles to Enjoyment, Setting the Table, On Large and Small Dinners, and Some Words of Champagne, amongst others. Written by Thomas Walker, an English barrister, police magistrate and author remembered for his one-man periodical, The Original. Illustrated by Lynton Lamb, an English artist-designer, author, lithographer and illustrator who was notable for his book jacket, poster, architectural decoration and postage stamp designs.
Condition
In the original quarter cloth binding with pictorial paper covered boards. Externally, smart with light bumping to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with light spotting to the fore-edge.
