A pleasing historical volume of Lebanon, outlining the key events and achievements of its people through the ages. With discussions of its area's links to ancient times associated with Egypt, Mesopotamia, Greece, Rome and Persia. 

With sketched maps. 

Written by Philip K. Hitti, a Lebanese-American professor and scholar at Princeton and Harvard University, and authority on Arab and Middle Eastern history. 

Condition

In the original cloth binding, with the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, with residual marks to the front and rear boards, otherwise very smart, with minor shelf wear the spine head and tail. Dust wrapper is smart, with moderate edge wear and sunning to the flyleaves. Minor closed tear to one of the flyleaves. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean. With a line running down both pastedowns and both endpapers where the dust wrapper's protective mylar yellowed over time. With a library bookplate tipped in to the rear endpaper.
