The Island Race is an abridgement by Timothy Baker of the four volumes of A History of the English-Speaking Peoples by Sir Winston Churchill. Many passaged from the original volumes have been omitted but this abridgment is entirely in Sir Winston Churchill's own words. 

Churchill's History of The English-Speaking Peoples is a four-volume history of Britain and its former colonies, covering the period from Caesar's invasions of Britain to the end of the Second Boer War.  

This is the first edition of this work in this form published by Cassell & Co. 

With numerous colour and black and white illustrations throughout the text.

Condition

In the original cloth binding. Externally, very smart with some slight bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Internally, firmly bound with bright and clean pages.
