This work tells the remarkable story of Danish Arabia expedition to Egypt, Arabia and Syria. The journey was attempted by six members, of whom only Carsten Niebuhr survived.

Thorkild Hansen (a Danish novelist most noted for his historical fiction) has pieced together the story using the diaries, notebooks and sketches from the expedition that were consigned to Copenhagen Museum.

Condition

In the original cloth binding. In the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, very smart with slight shelf wear and a few spots to the spine label. Dust wrapper is also very smart with light edgewear. A few scattered spots and handling marks to the wrap. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright with the odd spot.
