Written by French author, Georges Roux, who spent more than twenty years living in Syria, Lebanon, the Persian Gulf and Iraq. He studied archaeology and assyriology at the Louvre and at the Sorbonne in Paris.
Illustrated with a coloured frontispiece, coloured folding plates, thirty-one monochrome plates and five maps to the rear. Collated, complete.
Condition
In the original cloth binding, with the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, excellent, with only minor shelf wear. With small losses to the heads and tails of the spine and flyleaves. With handling marks to the wrap. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean, with a contemporary ink inscription to the front pastedown and scattered spots to the fore edge lightly affecting the odd page.
