The scarce first edition. In the publisher's full cloth binding, with the original, unclipped dust wrapper. With the half title page and an illustrated frontispiece. A delightful collection of poetry for children, illustrated throughout by Brian Wildsmith. Poetry titles include, 'What will you have for Breakfast?', and 'The Hedgehog'. Ian Serraillier was a popular English novelist and poet, best known for his children's book, 'The Silver Sword', which was adapted for television multiple times by the BBC. He commonly retold ancient legends for modern audiences.

Condition

In the original full cloth binding. Externally, very smart with some shelf wear to the edges. A few light marks to the boards. Some light staining to the lower boards. The original unclipped dust wrapper is in very smart condition. Some shelf wear to the edges. Staining to the lower panels, spine and flyleafs. Internally, firmly bound. Pages very bright and clean with just the odd spot to the blanks.
