What Our Customers Say...

Description

First Edition, Illustrated, Original Binding, Publishers' Original Binding, Signed, With Dustwrapper

Six volumes. A collection of studies on the life and works of Dame Edith Louisa Sitwell, a British poet and critic who was the eldest of the three literary Sitwells and a recipient of the Benson Medal of the Royal Society of Literature. Her home was always open to London's poetic circle, to whom she was generous and helpful. With her dramatic style and exotic costumes, she was sometimes labelled a poseur, but her work was praised for its technique and craftsmanship. This collection contains: A Bibliography of Edith, Osbert, and Sacheverell Sitwell, 1963. First edition, with three facsimile plates. Collated complete. Written by Erik Richard Sidney Fifoot, a British librarian who served as Bodley's Librarian, the head of the Bodleian Library at the University of Oxford Edith Sitwell: A Biography, 1981. First edition, illustrated with eight plates. Collated complete. Written by Geoffrey Elborn, a British biographer and scholar noted for his works on Edith Sitwell and Francis Stuart. Fanfare for Elizabeth, 1989. Later edition, illustrated with two plates. Collated complete. Written by Edith Sitwell. Collected Poems, 1993. Later edition. Written by Edith Sitwell. The Early Unpublished Poems of Edith Sitwell, 1994. First edition. Edited by Gerald W. Morton and Karen P. Helgeson. Selected Letters of Edith Sitwell, 1997.
