XXIV of The Kenyon Review, literary magazine founded in 1939 based in Ohio, publishing early works of prominent authors such as Robert Penn Warren, Ford Madox Ford, Bertold Brecht, Maya Angelou, and numerous others. Founded and initially edited by John Crowe Ransom, the magazine became one of the best known and most influential magazine of the English language in the 1940s and '50s.
The present volume contains articles by Marcus Klein, Henry Aiken, Elsa Gress Wright, John McCormick, and Department KR; fiction by Nadine Gordimer, J. F. Powers, and Jessamyn West; poetry by John HOllander, Samuel Hazo, Richard Lincoln, Delmore Schwartz, and Harold Witt; and reviews by Reed Whittemore, Nona Balakian, and others.

In the original publisher's wraps. Externally very smart with minor shelf wear only, spine only lightly sunned. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean. With some illustrations in text.
