Description

Colour Plates, Folding Plates, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding

Ward's 'Records' was a valuable resource for hunters as field guides, providing a detailed handbook for knowing what mammals could be found worldwide across the Empire.

This work contains measurements of game animals worldwide and was the pioneering book of its kind. In addition to measurements there are anecdotes from hunters and naturalists regarding species, geographical variations, subspecies, weights and measurements.

Illustrated with a colour frontispiece, one folding table, and seventy-two monochrome plates.

Rowland Ward was an influential taxidermist, and  a well known publisher of natural history and big hunting volumes.

The eleventh edition, compiled and edited by Gerald A. Best, Francois Edmond-Blanc, and R. Courtenay Witting.

Collated, complete.
