This work contains measurements of game animals worldwide and was the pioneering book of its kind. In addition to measurements there are anecdotes from hunters and naturalists regarding species, geographical variations, subspecies, weights and measurements.
Illustrated with a colour frontispiece, one folding table, and seventy-two monochrome plates.
Rowland Ward was an influential taxidermist, and a well known publisher of natural history and big hunting volumes.

Condition
In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. A few small marks to the cloth. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
