First thus, the first U.S edition. In an unclipped dustwrapper. The sixth novel by Iris Murdoch, 'An Unofficial Rose' was primarily viewed as a comic novel regarding love and family relationships. Iris Murdoch was a British novelist and philosopher, born in Ireland. Primarily her novels focus on themes of morality, spirituality and sexuality. A prominent philosopher, she is now increasingly accredited for her work in the field of philosophy, most notably her work on the reinterpretation of Aristotle and Plato, as well as her discussions of moral philosophy. In her lifetime Murdoch wrote 26 novels, as well of a series of short stories and several philosophical papers.
Condition
In original cloth binding and held in original unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, very smart with just some light spots to the spine and joints. Dustwrapper is very smart with a few small chips to the head and tail of spine. Minor rubbing and bumping to the head and tail of spine also. Slight sunning to the spine and minor ageing to the rear wrap edges. Small amount of offsetting internally to wrap. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright with just a few light spots to the foredge, not affecting the pages.
