First edition, held in original unclipped dustwrapper. Iris Murdoch was a popular twentieth century novelist and philosopher. Her novels primarily touch on themes of good and evil, sexual relationships, morality and the power of the unconscious. A prominent philosopher, she is now increasingly accredited for her work in the field of philosophy, most notably her work on the reinterpretation of Aristotle and Plato, as well as her discussions of moral philosophy. In her lifetime Murdoch wrote 26 novels, as well of a series of short stories and several philosophical papers.
Condition
In the original full cloth binding and held in original unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, very smart with bumping to the head and tail of spine. Discolouration to the tail of spine possibly due to water damage. Light rubbing to the extremities. Dustwrapper is generally smart. Sunning to the spine internally and externally. Small tidemarks to the tail of spine, affecting a small area of the front and rear wraps. A few small tide marks to the spine. The odd spot to the wraps.
