The first edition, first impression.

In the original unclipped dust wrapper, with the scarce 'Book Society Choice' wraparound band, and promotional bookmark. 

'An Unofficial Rose' is the sixth novel by Iris Murdoch, following the fallout of a family after a death and an affair, an interesting novel on the complexities of human relationships.

Iris Murdoch was a popular novelist and philosopher. Her novels primarily touch on themes of good and evil, sexual relationships, morality and the power of the unconscious.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding, in the original unclipped dust wrapper and wraparound. Externally, smart. Spine is a little faded, with a few minor marks to the boards and spine. Very light bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Light edge wear to the dust wrapper, heavier to the head and tail of the spine. Spine is a little age-toned, with a few light handling marks to the wraps. Wraparound band is smart with light sunning to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
