Wilder is remembered for the children's book series Little House on the Prairie, published between 1932 and 1943, which were based on her childhood in a settler and pioneer family.
The first of the novels present her is a 1962 Children's Book Club edition of 'The Long Winter', which was first published in 1940 and is the sixth of the 'Little House' novels. With illustrations from Garth Williams.

The second work is a 1968 printing of 'Little House in the Big Woods', which was her debut novel, first published in 1932. This inaugurated the 'Little House' series. With illustrations from Garth Williams.

In the publisher's original cloth bindings, with one dust wrapper clipped, and one unclipped. Tide marks to 'Long Winter' board perimeters, with marks to centre of front and rear board of 'Woods'. Library bookplate removal to 'Woods' endpapers. Loss to back strip head of 'Woods', with tide marks to back strip head and tail, and rear wrap head, of 'Winter'. Handling marks to 'Winter' rear wrap. Internally, firmly bound. Title page stamp to 'Woods', with pages otherwise clean and bright.
