Inscribed by the author to Norman Holmes Pearson (1909-1975) to the front free end paper, dated 1962. Pearson was an American academic who worked as a counterintelligence agent during the Second World War.

In the publisher's original cloth binding, with the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, lovely. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Dust wrapper remains very bright and smart.
