What Our Customers Say...

Description

Colour Plates, First Edition, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding, With Dustwrapper

A fascinating work on regency furniture from 1800 to 1830, including chapters on Henry Holland and French influence, new designs, classical purity, the gothic style, the Victorian threshold, types of furniture, materials, and more.

The first edition of this work.

Written by Clifford Musgrave, former director of the Royal Pavilion and a noted furniture historian.

Including three plates in colour, ninety-six pages of monochrome plates to the rear, and numerous in-text illustrations.

Collated and complete.

Enclosed in the original dust wrapper.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, excellent. Original unclipped dust wrapper is very smart, with some light age-toning to the rear and interior of the wrap, and some spotting to the interior of the wrap. Internally, firmly bound. Some offsetting to the front pastedown and front free-endpaper, otherwise pages are bright and clean.
