Third edition, first published in 1946. Very scarce work. With a folding table of weights and conversions to the rear. A collection of charming Baghdadian recipes for all occasions, with commentary on cooking and shopping in Baghdad, spices and herbs, hospitality, and more. With recipes such as: Leban, Kufta Bis Sinia, Leban Ummu, Orange Sharbat, Ab Gucht, and many others. Collected and edited by May Hamilton Beattie, a Scottish researcher dedicated to delving into the beauty of Oriental rugs, establishing it as a field of research at the University of Oxford.
Condition
In the original paper wraps. Externally, sound with light wear to the extremities and spotting to the wraps. The odd small mark to the wraps. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with light scattered spotting, predominantly to the first and last few pages. Light rust marks from the staples.
